Mykela and two of her friends from her class got to visit their new school this morning. She was so excited that she woke up way too early! I had to tell her to try to get a little more sleep. She helped make a lunch, even though she's not eating it at her elementary school, it was very important she said to have just what she needed to get her through this exciting day.
They spent an hour in their soon to be kindergarten class. A teacher read to them, then they did some arts and crafts. After all that fun they got to go on the pre-k/kindergarten playground. I met up with Mykela back at pre-school and she couldn't wait to tell me about all the fun and how ready for school she is. I then left her to enjoy the rest of her day at her pre-school.

B-A-N-A-N-A-S
Wow, It has been a really long time since my last post! It has been bananas around here. I have some photos and randoms to post, but for now something funny just happened and I wanted to share the laughter. Mykela has just had a major breakdown. We had a long day of painting the living room and had lots of running around to do. Anyway, she just went outside to jump on the trampoline with Will. It has been raining here off and on all day. Well Mykie hates to get wet with her clothes on. If she even has a little drop on her shirt, pants, or socks, she flips and needs to change. I personally think this made for easy potty training! So she and Will were on the trampoline and they started wrestling around. William accidentally pushed her into a little puddle that was on the side of the trampoline. She gave out this loud scream and went into a crying rage. Of course I hear this horrible scream and cry (from inside my house) and run quickly to the yard. I grab her and I'm asking what happened. William is trying to explain but she's screaming so loud that it's impossible to hear him. Finally I raised my voice and said to stop the crying so I can understand what happened. She calms down and says that she can no longer jump because her butt was soaked. When Mykie is tired she's becomes a whole different child, I think this is true for most kids. They simply need some quiet time. Unfortunatly she didn't really get that today. Once I told her that she was going to get a bath and get her jammies on, she flip, and the Dr. Jekle in her came out! I calmly picked her up, screaming, arms a flailing, kicking, and everything else you can imagine, placed her on time out. After she calmed down a bit, I went to her and explained why she wasn't going back out on the trampoline with NEW DRY CLEAN clothes. And how no matter how many times she changed, she would continue getting wet. There were puddles all along the side. So when you jump the puddles would just run onto to trampoline. Well, she very qickly became quiet and I told her that I loved her, she said she loved me too. Ok, so here's the funny part, I go into the kitchen to get dinner started. After a few min. I look into the living room and don't see find Mykie, no luck in the bedroom either. As I'm walking out of the bedroom I find Mykie laying in the hallway on the hard wood floor. I say what are you doing? She responds, "Well, I'm a very BAD girl and I don't deserve to sit on the couch or my bed"! Haha... I wish you could have heard her. I'm sure you would find it more funny, but some of the things this child says just make me almost pee my pants! I thank God everyday for sending me such little comidians!

Dr. visit
Mykela and Ciara had doctor appointments yesterday for check ups. Mykela needed to been seen since she will be going to kindergarten in the fall. The Dr. had some paper work to fill out and so on. Ciara was being seen for a physical and to receive booster shots.
They both did really well. Mykela weighed 39.7lbs and was 44" tall. Ciara was 84.3lbs and was 4'9"...she is tall! I'm 5'5"!! The Dr. asked Mykela to jump on one foot, count to 10, say a sentence, and so on. She also checked her spin for scoliosis since her Daddy has it, but it looked good. The Dr. did say that you usually can't tell a child has scoliosis until they are in middle school. Everything looked great for both of them and Mykie is ready for school! We offically can register her in two weeks :)

Happy 5th Birthday Mykie!
Mykela had a very busy birthday. She and I made cupcakes to take to school Thurs. night. She used SpongeBob liners and wanted purple icing topped with CareBears candy! I dropped her off at school where she was giving the "happy birthday" hat to wear all day. She received best wishes and a huge birthday card from all of her friends. And at lunch she shared her cupcakes and they sang happy birthday to her. After school she hung out with Sophia and Emma, her besties, and they gave her a very special birthday present with purple balloons. Afterwards she and I ran some errands in Bowie, we had lunch, and returned home. It was so nice and warm, with temps in the 70's, so we played outside with her new bubble machine. Finally it was time to wake Daddy and open presents. We left for William and Ciara's lacrosse practice around 5pm. After practice we had dinner at Mykela's favorite restaurant, Jaspers. We told the waitress that it was Mykela's 5th birthday and after dinner Mykela received cake with a candle! Her eyes lit up and she was so excited. We sang happy birthday to her and she made her wish. As we left the restaurant she whispered in my ear that she had a great birthday.
I want to thank everyone we spoke to or saw for wishing Mykela a happy birthday over the last few days. She received lots of birthday cards and really enjoyed searching through the mail each day to find them. I took her out about a week ago to get some birthday pictures, these are some of them I got that day.

Work it girl...
Ciara has always loved the camera! She has the most natural poses and the prettiest smile. I just love taking pictures of her. We went outside for a few minutes yesterday to snap a couple pictures before lacrosse practice. It was a lot of fun and they turned out beautiful as usual.

So Cute but So Gross
Mykela's school is teaching the kids about how birds hatch. They have some eggs in an incubator, where the kids can look everyday to see if any progress has happened in the hatching process. They have all had a chance to guess when they think the birds will hatch. It was cute to read their predictions. The school also received baby chicks on Monday. Of course they are so adorable and everyone wants one! The school is allowing for parents to sign up and take them home. Well,I decided to get some photos of Mykela and her friends with the baby chicks. I thought it would be very cute for easter cards. Those girls quickly realized just how dirty birds can be. After lunch I asked Mykela if she still wanted one and she quickly replied, "Ugh-NO, they poop everywhere!", I'm so glad she learned from that expierence!
Here are a few photos with her and the chick.

Building my Portfolio
Well, most of you are aware that I am going to start a photography business. I'm in the process of building a portfolio and have been borrowing some of my friends kids to do this. I had the pleasure of taking photos of Sofia and her baby sister Emma yesterday. Sofia is Mykela's best friend and they go to school together. We had so fun and afterwards went to have lunch at Cluck You. Those girls love Cluck You's Cinnabees. Here are a few photos from my first photo shoot.
Lea-Thank you so much for your support and allowing me to photograph your beautiful girls :) I hope you treasure these photos forever :)

Mykela is turning 5!
It's so hard to believe that our baby is going to be 5 in a few weeks! It's even harder to believe that she will be going to all day kindergarten in the fall. Where has the time gone? I have been so grateful and extremely lucky to have been able to stay home with her these last 5yrs. I have gotten the chance to watch her grow and enjoyed every last minute of it. The laundry has waited, the dishes have waited, the dusting has waited and so on, just so I could enjoy playing and laughing with my baby. I have heard her say her first word, watched her take her first steps, and been there encouraging her during potty training. I have watched her write her name and listened as she sang her ABC's, watched her dance on stage, make a goal and a touchdown. We have painted and colored, watched her favorite TV shows, gone to grab milkshakes and walked along the beach. We have collected shells and sharks teeth, taken a trip to the zoo and aquarium, gone to the pumpkin patch and or course the park. I can't even tell you how special these last 5yrs have been for me and how proud I am of her. I know that we have many more first to experience as she continues growing and learning, but these first 5yrs of her life have been the most special to me. Please enjoy this little video I have put together in honor of my baby's first 5yrs, I must warn you though... go grab a tissue!

A new bike!
Well, it's hard to believe that my baby will be 5 soon, it's even harder to believe that she needed a 16" bike to ride. Josh and Mykela have been going outside together the past few days and she has been all about riding her little bike. Josh will trail behind her on his skateboard as she rides down the hill. Josh mentioned that it was time for her to get a bigger bike, her knees were hitting the handle bars as she would peddle on her old bike. Well, Daddy surprised his little princess with a princess bike.. and Mommy cried, lol! It looked so big and looks even bigger next to her. She was so excited, here are a few pictures of her riding it yesterday for the first time. She doesn't have a helmet on in these pictures because she was test riding it, but the helmet quickly went on after a few minutes. Safety first and it's the law you know :)
